HPE and Chip Titans Form Quantum Alliance to Build Practical Supercomputers

Palo Alto, CA – November 10, 2025
A consortium of heavyweights led by Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has joined forces with global chip manufacturers and a Nobel-winning physicist to form the Quantum Scaling Alliance (QSA) — a collaborative effort aimed at building the first commercially scalable quantum supercomputer.

The partnership includes industry giants such as Applied Materials, Synopsys, and Micron, alongside quantum physics pioneer John M. Martinis. Their goal: to bridge the gap between quantum research and practical applications, enabling fault-tolerant hybrid systems that merge classical and quantum computation.

HPE’s CEO called the alliance “a decisive step toward quantum practicality.” Early prototypes are already being tested at HPE’s Houston lab, where quantum processors are integrated with AI inference nodes to simulate molecular behavior and optimize logistics algorithms.

“Quantum won’t replace classical computing,” Martinis stated. “It will supercharge it.”
